It is just a short walk to the lake from the cottage (which you can see from the pictures.) It is located in a quiet neighborhood. The house is cooled with central air and has ceiling fans throughout. There is a wood fireplace for the winter months. We also have a generator so the cottage never is without electricity! It has a screened-in porch and an outside deck which is fenced and gated, allowing you peace of mind for your small children and/or pet while you sit and relax, listening to the birds and the lapping of the water. You might also catch sight of the deer who like to roam through the area. If you like to fish, this is a great house because it is conveniently located near Alley Creek. If you like to read, play games, or watch DVDs/videos, there is a large selection of these in the cottage. It is also nice to sit by the fire pit at night and listen to the night sounds. The first thing you will probably notice is the quiet. The neighbors are nice, too. :) This cottage sits at the end of the road and has very little traffic. Historic Jefferson is only 15 minutes away with Antique shops, general store, Blackburn's syrup store, boat ride down the bayou, carriage rides,Jefferson Railway along with year round activities such as Ghost Walk Tours and Mardi Gras Parades.
